4. product descriptions & natural variations
At Wolfclyde Bee Company, we take care to describe and photograph our products as accurately as possible.
However, because many of our products are natural or handmade, slight variations may occur between individual items.
Honey
Honey is a natural product, and its colour, flavour, aroma, texture and consistency can vary depending on the floral sources available to our bees, the season and the individual hive.
Natural crystallisation may occur over time. This is a normal characteristic of honey and does not indicate that the product is faulty or unsuitable for consumption.
Beeswax Candles
Our beeswax candles are individually made, and slight variations in colour, finish, dimensions and weight may occur.
The natural colour and aroma of beeswax can vary depending on its source and processing.
Minor cosmetic variations that are characteristic of handmade products do not necessarily constitute defects.
Product Images & Specifications
Product photographs are provided for illustrative purposes. We make reasonable efforts to ensure that images, descriptions, dimensions and weights accurately represent the products offered for sale.
Where a product is sold by a specified net weight or quantity, it will meet applicable legal requirements.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet applicable consumer protection requirements.

10. cancellations & returns
At Wolfclyde Bee Company, we want our customers to be completely satisfied with their purchases.
Customers purchasing products through our website have certain cancellation and return rights under UK consumer protection legislation.
Your Right to Cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, customers generally have the right to cancel an online purchase within 14 days of receiving their goods, without giving a reason.
Where an order contains multiple products delivered separately, the cancellation period generally begins when the final item is received.
To exercise your right to cancel, please notify us by email at hello@wolfclydebees.com, clearly stating your intention to cancel.
You may cancel an order before dispatch by contacting us as soon as possible.
Returning Products
Following a valid cancellation, customers must return the relevant goods within 14 days of notifying us of their decision to cancel.
Unless otherwise agreed, customers are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods when cancelling because they have changed their minds, provided this was disclosed before purchase.
We recommend packaging returned products securely to prevent damage during transit.
Customers may inspect goods as they would reasonably be permitted to do in a shop. Where goods have been handled beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, a deduction from the refund may be permitted by law.
Honey and Food Products
Certain sealed products that are unsuitable for return for health protection or hygiene reasons may be exempt from the statutory cancellation right once unsealed after delivery.
This exception applies only where the relevant legal conditions are satisfied.
Opening a honey jar does not automatically remove all consumer rights.
Customers retain their statutory rights if a product is faulty, unsafe or not as described.
Handmade Beeswax Products
Our beeswax candles and other handmade products are generally subject to the standard 14-day cancellation right.
Minor natural variations in colour, finish or appearance do not necessarily constitute defects, provided the products conform to their descriptions and applicable consumer law.
Exceptions to Cancellation Rights
Certain products may be excluded from the statutory cancellation right, including goods made to a customer’s specifications or clearly personalised, where the relevant legal conditions are met.
Any applicable exception will be explained before purchase.
Faulty or Incorrect Products
The statutory cancellation rules do not limit your rights if goods are faulty, damaged, unsafe or not as described.
Where goods do not meet applicable legal requirements, customers may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, depending on the circumstances.
Further Information
For full details of our cancellation, return and refund arrangements, please see our Shipping & Returns Policy.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory consumer rights.
11. refunds
At Wolfclyde Bee Company, we aim to process refunds promptly and fairly, in accordance with applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
Refunds Following Cancellation
Where a customer exercises their statutory right to cancel an online purchase, we will refund the payments received for the cancelled goods.
Where the entire order is cancelled, we will also refund the original standard delivery charge, where applicable.
If a customer selected a more expensive delivery service than our standard delivery option, we are not required to refund the additional cost.
Refund Timescales
Refunds following a valid cancellation will be processed without undue delay and no later than 14 days after:
- We receive the returned goods; or
- The customer provides evidence that the goods have been returned,
whichever occurs first.
Where goods have not yet been dispatched, refunds will be issued within 14 days of being informed of the cancellation.
Return Postage
Where a customer cancels an order because they have changed their mind, they are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods, provided this was explained before purchase.
Where goods are faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, Wolfclyde Bee Company will cover reasonable return costs where required by law.
Refund Method
Refunds will normally be issued using the same payment method used for the original purchase.
Payments made through our online shop are processed using Stripe.
We will not impose additional fees for issuing refunds.
Once a refund has been processed, the time taken for the funds to appear in the customer’s account may depend on their payment provider.
Partial Refunds
Where only part of an order is cancelled or returned, we will refund the amount applicable to those products.
Any adjustment to delivery charges will be determined in accordance with the customer’s statutory rights and the circumstances of the cancellation.
Faulty or Misdescribed Products
Where goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet applicable consumer protection requirements, customers may be entitled to a full or partial refund.
Any such refund will be handled in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable legislation.
Nothing in this section limits or excludes a customer’s statutory rights.
Further Information
For additional information, please see our Shipping & Returns Policy.
12. damaged, faulty or incorrect products
At Wolfclyde Bee Company, we take care to ensure that all products are prepared, packaged and dispatched to a high standard.
However, if an order arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, we will work with the customer to resolve the issue promptly and fairly.
Damaged Products
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible at hello@wolfclydebees.com.
Where possible, please provide:
- Your order number.
- A description of the damage.
- Photographs of the affected products and packaging.
This information helps us investigate the problem and arrange an appropriate resolution.
Please take particular care when handling broken glass or damaged honey jars.
We may ask customers to retain damaged packaging temporarily while we investigate a delivery issue.
Faulty Products
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their intended purpose and as described.
If a product fails to meet these requirements, customers are entitled to appropriate remedies under consumer protection law.
These may include:
- A refund.
- A replacement.
- A repair, where appropriate.
- A price reduction in certain circumstances.
Your 30-Day Right to Reject
Customers generally have a statutory right to reject faulty goods within 30 days of receiving them and obtain a refund.
After this period, customers may still have rights to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund, depending on the circumstances.
These rights are separate from the 14-day cancellation period that generally applies to online purchases.
Incorrect Products
If we supply an incorrect product, please contact us as soon as possible.
For example, if you order honey from a particular hive and receive honey from a different hive, we recognise that this is not the product you selected.
We will arrange an appropriate replacement or refund without additional cost to you.
Return of Faulty or Incorrect Goods
Where goods are faulty or incorrectly supplied, Wolfclyde Bee Company will cover reasonable return costs where required by law.
We may arrange collection or provide suitable return instructions.
Customers will not be required to pay return postage where doing so would be inconsistent with their statutory rights.
Natural Product Variations
Honey and beeswax are natural products, and some variation in colour, aroma, texture and appearance is normal.
These natural characteristics do not necessarily indicate a fault.
However, all products must conform to their descriptions and meet applicable consumer protection requirements.
Contact Us
If you experience a problem with an order, please email:
We aim to resolve concerns promptly and fairly.
Nothing in this section excludes or limits your statutory consumer rights.
13. honey & food product information
Wolfclyde Bee Company produces and sells Scottish honey harvested from our own beehives.
We take care to ensure that our honey is harvested, extracted, handled, packaged and labelled in accordance with applicable food safety and hygiene requirements.
Single-Hive Scottish Honey
Our honey is produced in small batches, with each jar containing honey harvested from an individual hive rather than honey blended from multiple hives.
This approach allows customers to experience the distinctive characteristics of honey produced by different colonies.
The colour, flavour, aroma and consistency of our honey may vary depending on the flowers visited by the bees, seasonal conditions and the individual hive.
Natural Crystallisation
Honey is a natural product and may crystallise over time.
Crystallisation is a normal process and does not indicate that honey is faulty or unsuitable for consumption.
Crystallised honey can generally be returned to a liquid consistency by gently warming the jar in warm water. Excessive heating should be avoided.
Honey Storage
To maintain the quality of our honey, we recommend:
- Storing honey in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keeping the lid securely closed when not in use.
- Avoiding excessive heat and moisture.
- Following the best-before date displayed on the product label.
Honey does not normally require refrigeration.
Honey and Infants
Honey must not be given to children under 12 months of age.
This precaution applies to all honey, including raw, pasteurised and commercially produced honey, because of the risk of infant botulism.
Food Safety and Traceability
Wolfclyde Bee Company maintains records relating to honey harvesting, processing and packaging to support product traceability.
Our honey products are labelled with relevant information, including net weight, best-before information and batch identification, as required by applicable legislation.
Customers should refer to the information provided on individual product labels.
Product Quality
We take reasonable care to ensure that our honey meets applicable food safety and quality standards.
As a natural agricultural product, variations between harvests and individual hives are to be expected.
Nothing in this section limits customers’ statutory rights where a product is unsafe, faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet applicable legal requirements.
14. beeswax candles & product safety
Wolfclyde Bee Company produces handmade beeswax candles in a range of shapes, sizes and designs.
We take care to manufacture our candles using appropriate materials and to provide customers with information about their safe use.
Handmade Beeswax Candles
Our candles are individually made using beeswax, which may be sourced from our own beehives or from other suppliers.
As beeswax is a natural material, slight variations in colour, aroma, texture and appearance may occur.
These variations are characteristic of natural beeswax and handmade production.
Candle Safety
Candles involve an open flame and must always be used responsibly.
For your safety, please follow these precautions:
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep burning candles away from children and pets.
- Keep candles away from curtains, furniture and other flammable materials.
- Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
- Use a suitable candle holder appropriate for the candle’s size and shape.
- Keep candles away from draughts and sources of airflow.
- Maintain a safe distance between burning candles.
- Trim the wick to approximately 6 mm before lighting.
- Do not burn a candle for more than four hours continuously, unless the product instructions specify a shorter period.
- Discontinue use when approximately 10 mm of wax remains, or earlier if specified in the product instructions.
- Never move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is liquid.
Specialist Candle Designs
Some of our decorative candles, including tall, slender or unusually shaped designs, may require additional precautions.
Where appropriate, customers should use a suitable candle holder, spike or other secure support to prevent the candle from tipping.
Certain decorative candles may burn unevenly or produce wax drips. Customers should use a suitable heat-resistant holder or tray to contain melted wax.
Any additional safety instructions supplied with individual products should be followed.
Product Safety Information
We provide appropriate safety information and warnings with our candles in accordance with applicable product safety requirements.
Customers should read and follow the safety instructions supplied with each product before use.
Faulty or Unsafe Products
If you believe a candle is defective or unsafe, discontinue use and contact us at hello@wolfclydebees.com.
We will investigate the concern and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits Wolfclyde Bee Company’s legal responsibilities for product safety or customers’ statutory rights.
